A practical space saving solution, allowing the area inside a room to be used effectively.
Doors slide in a straight line with the weight of the door(s) supported by either rollers attached to the top of the door which run in a track or rollers at the bottom of the door(s) which run on a rail.
Common applications are; single internal doorways, room dividers and wardrobes although this type of gear is available for all weights and sizes of doors.
Unlike sliding doors, folding doors do not require any wall space either side of the aperture.
The doors fold to the edge of the opening leaving the majority of the walk-way clear. Units can fold to one side or can be split so that the doors fold to either side.
Common applications include room dividers, single internal doorways and garages.
An increasing popular system is the Securefold which offers an alternative to the conventional patio door arrangement allowing the garden and living room area to merge into one.
Used primarily on garages, commercial and light industrial applications, the round the corner gear allows the doors to slide clear of the opening, travel around the corner and park themselves against the adjacent wall.
The system allows for all of the doors to travel one way or alternatively the units can be split so that both side walls are used.
The system also allows for the convenience of having a single personnel door for easy access.
The pocket door is a simple yet effective way of increasing the available space in a domestic or commercial property.
The functionality is similar to that of the straight sliding gear with the noticeable difference being that the door actually slides into the wall cavity, not only giving effective use of the room space but also allowing the external wall area to be used.
Given the installation requirements this is a very popular option for both new build and renovation.
