The project at the Al-Mahdi Institute, Birmingham demanded the flexibility to manage both day time and residential student’s access to rooms, study areas and communal spaces. The SMARTair System uses Mifare Radio Frequency Identification contactless keyless technology. Allowing pre programme cards to be issued to students on arrival for their period of study. Record Breaker

Doorfit Products recently replaced 36 garage doors in a garage block refurbishment programme for a local housing association. The project was to replace the existing doors with pre-finished steel doors and frames, the Garador Horizon being the preferred choice. A prerequisite set by the client was for the installation to be completed in a short timeframe to help minimise the disruption to the residents, a challenge that Doorfit duly undertook. Doorfit 60th Anniversary 1953 – 2013

In 1936, brothers John and George Neil, from Stirling in Scotland, moved to Halesowen in the Midlands. Their father was transferred by the Singer sewing machine company to work in the local factory. The family stayed in the Midlands until the start of the Second World War, soon after which John and George both volunteered for service – George in the Navy and John in the RAF.
