Description
4564 P.Brass Broughton Key Hole Cover
There is something quite special about the little details in a home that often go unnoticed until they are missing or looking a bit tired. We have all walked past a door and noticed a bare, ugly hole where the key should go. It can make a perfectly lovely door look unfinished or neglected. This is where the 4564 P.Brass Broughton Key Hole Cover steps in to save the day. It is a simple yet incredibly effective way to tidy up your door furniture while adding a layer of sophisticated charm that catches the eye for all the right reasons.
At Doorfit, we understand that you want your home to feel cohesive and well cared for. Whether you are renovating a period property or simply refreshing your internal doors, choosing the right hardware makes a world of difference. This escutcheon is designed to cover the unsightly gaps around your keyhole, protecting the surrounding wood from scratches caused by keys and providing a neat, polished finish that ties your entire room together. It is a small investment that offers a significant visual upgrade to your living space.
Why choose polished brass for your home
Polished brass is a classic choice for a reason. It brings a warm, golden glow to a room that other finishes simply cannot replicate. The 4564 P.Brass Broughton Key Hole Cover features a bright, reflective surface that works beautifully with both traditional wooden doors and more modern painted finishes. It has a timeless quality that does not go out of style, ensuring that your home looks elegant for many years to come.
Beyond its looks, brass is a fantastic material for door furniture because it is naturally resilient. When you choose this 4564 P.Brass Broughton Key Hole Cover, you are choosing a piece of hardware that is built to handle the daily hustle and bustle of a busy household. It resists the wear and tear of keys constantly brushing against it, maintaining its lustre with just an occasional gentle wipe with a soft cloth.
Practical benefits for your doors
Installing an escutcheon is one of the easiest DIY tasks you can undertake, yet it provides an immediate sense of completion to your doors. If you have recently changed your locks or had new doors fitted, you might find that the area around the keyhole has become a bit scuffed or splintered. This cover hides those imperfections perfectly, acting as a decorative frame that makes the keyhole look intentional and refined rather than just a functional necessity.
- The polished brass finish is easy to keep clean and maintains its bright appearance with minimal effort.
- This key hole cover provides a sturdy barrier that prevents keys from damaging the surface of your door.
- It is designed to be compatible with a wide range of standard internal mortice locks found in most British homes.
- The classic Broughton design suits a variety of interior styles ranging from rustic farmhouse to elegant Victorian.
- Installation is straightforward and requires only basic tools, making it a great weekend project for any homeowner.
Where this product fits best
You might be wondering if this specific model is the right choice for your particular doors. Because of its versatile shape and finish, it is a brilliant choice for almost any room in the house. We often see customers using these in hallways where first impressions matter, or in bedrooms and studies where you might want that extra bit of privacy and a finished look. It works exceptionally well on darker stained woods where the polished brass creates a lovely contrast, but it is equally at home on white painted doors where it acts as a subtle jewellery piece for the woodwork.
A well-dressed door is the hallmark of a home that is truly loved. By paying attention to the small hardware, you create an environment that feels complete and welcoming to everyone who walks through your doors.
Quality you can trust
When you buy from Doorfit, you are choosing a supplier that values quality and durability. We know that you do not want to be replacing your door hardware every few months, which is why we ensure that our products are made to a high standard. The 4564 P.Brass Broughton Key Hole Cover is crafted with precision, ensuring that the screw holes align correctly and the finish is applied evenly across the entire surface. You will notice the weight and the quality of the brass as soon as you take it out of the packaging.
We believe that home improvement should be accessible and rewarding. That is why we provide products that are not only beautiful but also practical to install. You do not need to be a professional carpenter to achieve a professional result with this escutcheon. With a simple screwdriver and a few minutes of your time, you can transform the look of your internal doors and enjoy the satisfaction of a job well done.

Maintaining your brass finish
To keep your new key hole cover looking its best, we recommend avoiding harsh chemical cleaners that can strip the protective lacquer. Instead, use a soft, dry cloth to remove any dust or fingerprints. If you notice a bit of grime buildup over time, a damp cloth with a tiny drop of mild washing up liquid is usually all that is needed. By taking care of your brass hardware, you ensure that it remains a gleaming feature of your home for many years to come.
It is worth noting that brass is a natural material that can age beautifully over time. If you prefer a more muted, antique look, you might eventually choose to let the finish develop a natural patina. However, for those who love that bright, reflective shine, regular light cleaning will keep it looking brand new. The choice is entirely yours, which is part of the joy of choosing real brass for your home.
Final thoughts on your purchase
Choosing the right hardware is about more than just function. It is about expressing your personal style and taking pride in the details of your living space. We are confident that this escutcheon will meet your expectations and help you achieve the look you are aiming for. If you have any questions about the installation or compatibility, our team at Doorfit is always here to offer friendly, expert advice.
Do not let those empty keyholes detract from the beauty of your home any longer. Add a touch of classic elegance to your doors today with this high-quality brass accessory. It is a small change that makes a big impact, and we are sure you will be pleased with the result. Place your order now to get started on your home refresh, and enjoy the peace of mind that comes with knowing you have chosen a product that is built to last.
