Description
Union L2149 Euro Deadlock 76mm Satin Chrome
When it comes to securing your home or office, the hardware you choose makes all the difference. We all want that feeling of complete peace of mind when we turn the key and walk away from our front door. If you are looking for a reliable, sturdy solution that stands the test of time, the Union L2149 Euro Deadlock 76mm Satin Chrome is a fantastic choice. This mortice lock is designed to handle the daily grind of a busy household while providing a level of security that keeps your property safe and sound.
Many of us have dealt with flimsy locks that feel loose or jam when you least expect it. That is where this particular deadlock shines. It is built by Union, a name synonymous with quality in the UK security industry, so you know you are getting a product that has been engineered to last. Whether you are fitting out a new door or upgrading your existing security, this lock offers a smooth, reliable operation that ensures your door closes firmly and stays locked until you decide otherwise.
Robust Security for Your Peace of Mind
At the heart of this lock is a solid brass deadbolt that includes hardened steel rollers. This is a clever design choice because it helps to resist sawing attacks, making it much harder for intruders to force their way in. The 12mm bolt throw provides a deep, secure engagement with the striking plate, ensuring that your door remains firmly in its frame. It is the kind of security that does not need to shout to be effective, as the quality of the materials speaks for itself.
The finish on this lock is a beautiful satin chrome. It looks modern, clean, and professional, making it a perfect match for a wide variety of door handles and interior decor styles. Because it is a satin finish, it is also quite forgiving when it comes to fingerprints and light wear and tear, keeping your doors looking tidy even in high traffic areas of your home or office.
Practical Features That Make a Difference
- The Union L2149 Euro Deadlock 76mm Satin Chrome features a high quality brass deadbolt reinforced with hardened steel rollers to prevent tampering.
- You get a consistent 12mm bolt throw which ensures the door is held securely within the frame at all times.
- The satin chrome finish is not only aesthetically pleasing but also provides a durable layer of protection against corrosion.
- This lock is supplied with a matching striking plate that ensures a seamless and professional look on your door frame.
- The case is constructed from steel with a silver powder coat finish, providing a strong internal housing for the locking mechanism.
- It is fully compatible with standard euro profile cylinders, giving you the flexibility to choose the level of key security you require.
- The 76mm case size is a standard dimension that makes this lock an ideal replacement for many existing mortice deadlocks in UK homes.
Versatility and Installation
One of the best things about this lock is its versatility. It is designed to be used on timber doors that are hinged on either the left or the right side. This takes the guesswork out of your purchase, as you do not need to worry about the handing of your door when ordering. It is a straightforward, functional piece of hardware that does exactly what it says on the tin.
If you are concerned about fire safety, you will be pleased to know that this lock has been assessed under EN 1634-1 standards. This means it is suitable for use on 60 minute fire doors, provided it is installed correctly. It is a vital detail for those working on renovation projects or building new extensions where fire regulations are a priority. Always ensure you follow the installation instructions carefully to maintain the integrity of your fire door.
