Description
Intumescent Air Transfer Fire Block 1 Hour Rated for Doors and Walls
Fire blocks offer a low-maintenance, low-cost answer to this application giving up to 60 minutes integrity in accordance with BS 476 part 20/22 together with giving excellent free air flow during normal use.
A durable ventilation grille which is easily mounted in solid timber fire doors & solid block walls, and can provide in excess of 1/2 or 1 hour fire protection. Astroflame Fire Grille comprises of a intumescent core within a galvanized steel frame with vermin proof 6mm steel mesh fitted to both faces. The design allows a free area of 80% approximately.
Application uses
- Suitable for use in solid timber fire doors & solid block walls
- Suitable for mounting up to 1,000mm (1m) from floor level. Top edge of Grille should be no higher than 1,000mm (1m).
- When installing ventilation, air conditioning, ductwork or simply cutting holes for ventilation within a compartment concrete wall the integrity of the building must be retained.

Installation
- For block work installation, block work should be a minimum of 75mm thick and with a suitable lintel above the grille so that the grille is non load bearing.
- Door work installation should be a minimum of 44mm thick.
