Description
Yale 8K116-Se Silver Multi Purpose Door Bolt
Security remains a fundamental requirement for every property owner. When you choose the Yale 8K116-Se Silver Multi Purpose Door Bolt, you are investing in a legacy of engineering excellence that spans over a century. This robust locking solution offers a seamless blend of strength and simplicity, ensuring your doors remain firmly secured against unauthorised entry.
Designed for versatility, this hardware is suitable for a wide range of door types and configurations. Whether you need to secure a shed, a garden gate, or an internal utility door, this unit provides the peace of mind you deserve. Its sleek silver finish ensures it integrates discreetly into any architectural style without compromising on the aesthetic appeal of your home or office space.
Understanding the Mechanical Physics of Security
The structural integrity of this security device relies on precise mechanical physics. When you engage the bolt, the internal mechanism distributes pressure evenly across the strike plate, which significantly reduces the risk of structural failure during an attempted break in. The high grade materials used in the manufacturing process ensure that the bolt resists the shear forces that often lead to metal fatigue.
Because this item is designed with a high degree of rigidity, it prevents the unwanted flexing that occurs in lower quality alternatives. The torque applied during the installation process ensures that the housing remains fixed against the door frame, creating a stable platform that can withstand significant physical impact. By maintaining tight tolerances, the manufacturer ensures that the bolt remains smooth in operation while providing maximum resistance to external manipulation.
Step by Step Operational Workflow
Interacting with this hardware is an intuitive process that prioritises user comfort and efficiency. To secure your door, you first align the bolt with the corresponding hole in the strike plate. Once aligned, you apply a gentle manual force to slide the bolt into the locked position until you feel the tactile feedback of the mechanism reaching its terminal point.
To release the bolt, you simply reverse the motion by pulling the sliding component back into the housing. The design features a smooth surface finish that reduces friction between the moving parts, meaning that elderly users or those with limited grip strength can operate the device without experiencing physical strain. This focus on fluid motion ensures that the bolt remains reliable even after years of daily use in various environmental conditions.
Ergonomic Health and Safety Benefits
Selecting the right door hardware is not just about security, it is also about ensuring the physical well being of everyone in the building. A properly installed bolt reduces the risk of doors swinging open unexpectedly, which can be a significant hazard in high traffic areas. By providing a positive locking action, this device ensures that you are never left guessing whether a room or storage area is properly closed.
Furthermore, the ergonomic shape of the handle allows for a natural grip, which helps prevent repetitive strain injuries. Safety compliance is maintained through the reliable performance of the locking action, which acts as a secondary barrier in emergency situations. You can feel confident knowing that your security hardware meets the high standards expected from a brand as trusted as Yale.
Commercial ROI and Long Term Value
Investing in premium hardware like the Yale 8K116-Se Silver Multi Purpose Door Bolt is a strategic decision for any property manager or homeowner. Cheap, poorly manufactured locks often require frequent replacements due to corrosion or mechanical failure, leading to hidden costs and time consuming maintenance cycles. By choosing a high quality product, you protect your valuable assets and minimise the need for recurring repairs.
The durability of this model ensures that it retains its functional and visual quality for many years, providing excellent value for money over its entire life cycle. In a commercial environment, this translates to reduced administrative overheads and fewer maintenance call outs. Protecting your property effectively is a foundational step in maintaining the market value of your building, making this purchase a wise long term investment for your security infrastructure.
Suitable Materials and Versatile Applications
This hardware is engineered to be compatible with a vast array of materials, from traditional solid timber to modern composite doors. Its adaptability makes it a favourite among professional joiners and DIY enthusiasts who require a reliable solution for various projects. You can install this on internal doors to create private zones or use it on external gates to protect your garden equipment from theft.
The Yale 8K116-Se Silver Multi Purpose Door Bolt represents the pinnacle of standard door security, offering an unbeatable combination of ease of use, aesthetic neutrality, and hardened steel reliability for your peace of mind.
