Description
Briton 121CE Silver Door Closer
We have all been there. You are working in a busy office or relaxing at home when a door suddenly slams shut with a loud bang, or worse, it stays slightly ajar when it should be closed for privacy or safety. It is a small annoyance, but it can disrupt your entire day. That is exactly where the Briton 121CE Silver Door Closer comes in to save the day. This compact, reliable piece of engineering is designed to make sure your doors behave exactly how you want them to, closing smoothly and consistently every single time.
At Doorfit, we understand that you need hardware that you can fit and forget. You do not want to be fiddling with complicated mechanisms or worrying about whether a closer will last the distance. The Briton 121CE is a fantastic choice because it balances cost effectiveness with the high standards of quality that the Briton name is famous for. Whether you are looking to secure a store room, manage an office door, or ensure that a fire door shuts properly, this closer provides the peace of mind you need without being overly bulky or difficult to install.
Why choose this door closer for your property
When you choose hardware for your building, you want to know that it is going to perform under pressure. This closer uses a robust rack and pinion mechanism that has been hardened and ground for smooth operation. This means you get a consistent closing action that feels premium, rather than jerky or unreliable. It is specifically designed as a fixed power size 3 unit, which makes it the perfect match for the most common door sizes found in homes and commercial properties across the UK.
One of the best things about this unit is its versatility. It is a non handed design, which simply means you do not have to worry about whether your door opens to the left or the right. It fits both scenarios perfectly, giving you one less thing to stress about during the installation process. It also comes in a clean, professional silver finish that blends in nicely with most modern interiors, ensuring that your security hardware does not look out of place or unsightly.
Practical performance and ease of use
Installation is often the biggest hurdle when upgrading door hardware, but this model is designed to be straightforward. Whether you are a professional contractor or a confident DIY enthusiast, you will find that the included instructions and fittings make the process manageable. Once installed, you have the ability to adjust both the closing speed and the latching speed. This is a brilliant feature because it allows you to fine tune how the door closes. You can set it to shut firmly but gently, preventing that jarring slam while ensuring the door latches securely every time.
- The Briton 121CE Silver Door Closer is suitable for a wide range of light duty applications including office doors and internal store rooms.
- This unit is fully compatible with both fire doors and standard non fire doors, providing a versatile solution for your building requirements.
- You can achieve a full 180 degree door opening, which ensures that the closer does not restrict access or get in the way during busy periods.
- The pressure die cast aluminium body offers a lightweight yet incredibly durable construction that stands up to daily wear and tear.
- Every unit comes with all the necessary fittings included in the box, so you can get to work immediately without needing to hunt for extra parts.
- It is a fixed power size 3 closer, which is the industry standard for the most common door widths and weights encountered in standard properties.
Safety and peace of mind
We know that safety is your top priority, especially when it comes to fire doors. You will be pleased to know that this product is not just a standard closer, but a rigorously tested piece of safety equipment. It is CE marked to EN 1154 standards, which is the benchmark for performance in the industry. Furthermore, it has been fire tested to EN 1634, meaning it is certified for use on timber fire doors for up to two hours. This gives you the assurance that if the worst were to happen, your door hardware is doing its job to protect the building.
The Certifire approval adds an extra layer of confidence, confirming that the product is fit for purpose and meets the stringent quality controls that fire safety experts demand. When you install this on a fire door, you are making a responsible choice that protects both your property and the people inside it.
